Climate overview

Copenhagen has a temperate oceanic climate (Köppen Cfb), set on the Øresund strait between the Baltic and the North Sea world. The warm Gulf Stream leaves the Danish capital roughly five degrees milder than its northerly latitude would otherwise allow, while a steady train of Atlantic low-pressure systems brings unsettled weather and alternating spells of rain and sun. The surrounding sea keeps the seasons moderate, without the harsh winters or hot summers found further inland.
